The itinerary also includes a challenging yet spiritually rewarding hike to Hemkund Sahib, a revered Sikh pilgrimage site situated beside a glacial lake at 14,200 ft.
Itinerary
A long, scenic drive alongside the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers. Witness the beautiful confluences (Prayags) along the way before reaching the basecamp at Govindghat.
Begin the actual trek by walking alongside the roaring Pushpawati river. The trail is well-laid out, gradually ascending to Ghangaria, a vibrant settlement that serves as the base for the next few days.
Enter the stunning biosphere reserve. Marvel at the endless sea of colorful blooms set against towering peaks. Spend time exploring before returning to Ghangaria before sunset.
A steep and challenging ascent leads you to the holy glacial lake of Hemkund Sahib at 14,200 ft. Enjoy the Langar (community meal) and the spiritual aura before descending back to Ghangaria.
Say goodbye to the magical valley as you trace your steps back to Govindghat. Relax and enjoy a well-deserved rest at the hotel.
